Founded by Ayanda Dlamini, South African Actress, Radio and tv presenter, G12 Runway is all about Sewing dreams, One stitch at a time. Connecting High school learners and Design students, making dreams a reality.
When Ayanda was in Matric she could not attend her matric dance due to Financial constraints. Fast forward to grown-up Ayanda with a vision to help, she thought of a way that would not only help but elevate young South Africa Designers.
G12 RUNWAY identifies design creatives and provides them with opportunities to learn and expose their creations to a wider audience and mentorship programs with prominent designers.
G12 RUNWAY makes giving back stylish. Design students are not only designing to show off their skills but will be sharing their gifts with other young women in their communities.
G12 RUNWAY is about giving you a hand up, not a handout.
The winning dress designs go into production and are then donated to deserving young women.
The G12 RUNWAY objective is to promote and nurture the talents of today’s young creative innovators and to provide young talents with a platform for their ideas and designs.
In 2018 G12 Runway goes big with the G12 Runway experience in Canal Walk Shopping centre Cape Town on the 24-26 August 2018. For inspiration and looks for you matric dance this year. Be There!
